What is United Way of America?
United Way of America is the national organization dedicated to leading the United Way movement in making measurable impact in every community across America. The United Way movement includes approximately 1,300 community-based United Ways.
What is the relationship between United Way in Waukesha County and United Way of America?
Each of the 1,300 United Ways within the United States is independent, separately incorporated, and governed by local volunteers. United Way in Waukesha County pays membership dues to United Way of America, which results in important local cost-savings through services such as staff training, community research information, campaign products, and NFL advertising. Our membership dues are 1% of the total campaign in our local area. Each year, the United Way in Waukesha County Board of Directors reviews its annual investment of membership dues to United Way of America.
