Initiatives

Historically, United Way in Waukesha County has been considered the "community fundraiser."  However, in the past number of years, we have transformed into so much more than just a fundraiser.  We have asked the public to provide feedback on the issues that matter most in our community; we have encouraged and brought about collaborations between traditional and non-traditional partners; and we have chosen to be proactive, rather than reactive.

These actions have led to the creation of five initiatives that United Way in Waukesha County supports.  Born Learning, Caregiver Support, Financial Stability, Helping Kids Succeed and Transportation Access have become a core group of projects of which we are very proud.  These initiatives are working to identify and impact the root causes of community-wide problems.  No longer are we only there to help members of the community out of a crisis - through these initiatives, we are looking to prevent the crisis from happening in the first place.
