ADVOCATE.

We're Bob and Skylar.

To me, advocacy is all about wanting to serve others. It’s something I believe and live everyday. And my unconditional love for my son Skylar has given me the roots to grow and the strength to reach out to other parents with special needs children. As a board member of a small support group with a faith-based foundation, I’m an advocate for and friend to parents whose children have special needs. In my roles as a father and as the executive director of the YMCA at Pabst Farms, I’ve witnessed doors open for my son and for other individuals filled with resources in an inclusive environment. By advocating for one, we advocate for many. And the beauty of our community is that Skylar knows Oconomowoc and Oconomowoc knows my son...that’s "how WE LIVE UNITED."

LIVE_UNITED_ARCh.JPGWe're Phil and Caroline.

We share our voices with the Association for the Rights of Citizens with handicaps (ARCh). As members of the ARCh Youth team, we’ve made presentations in high schools throughout Waukesha County sharing the message that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect. We also advocate for saving children’s lives by informing others about preventable causes of death such as Shaken Baby Syndrome. We may be young, but we have many experiences and values to share...that’s “how WE LIVE UNITED.”
