Montrell and Cherese are very hard working individuals who were on the verge of homelessness when they contacted the Financial Resource Coordinator for help with rent assistance.  Montrell and Cherese had two daughters, age two and three years, and Cherese was also pregnant at the time.    The couple was trying very hard to keep their housing but the loss of Cherese’s job due to her pregnancy being a “high risk” pregnancy was causing a great deal of hardship for the family.

Montrell and Cherese met with the Financial Resource Coordinator to work through a budget and determine what resources they would be able to access.   Working with the Financial Resource coordinator they were able to contact community service agencies and other resources to fill in the gaps in their budget.  A no-interest loan was provided to assist them with September’s rent.   The family has made all of their payments on time and has shown that they are very responsible with keeping on their budget.  Their efforts have resulted in all of their bills being paid on time. Cherese did return to work in January and the additional income has helped the family continue to maintain their housing and be self-sufficient.
