St. Charles' Youth and Family Services
Dani, a 14 year old female, was referred to the program with goals of improving her personal hygiene and communication with her parents and other family members.  She was also focusing on improving her school attendance and her attitude towards others.  When Dani first started with the program she did not share a lot about herself.  She would exchange life experiences and lessons learned with staff, who continued to use this simple approach as a method to help Dani see more than her view of things.  Soon Dani shared that she had started communicating with her family in a similar fashion.  Dani began to express herself better and more appropriately at school and at home.  She also began utilizing her counselor a
